While the slide offers great amusement, it is not the primary attraction at the Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower. We encourage visitors to embrace the journey along the walkway and fully immerse themselves in nature.

At the top of the Viewing Tower, indulge in the magnificent vistas overlooking the Wicklow Mountains and the Vale of Avoca. Take your time to savor these panoramic sights before deciding whether you wish to partake in the slide experience or not.

Please note that the slide is an optional add-on experience at Beyond the Trees Avondale’s Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower.

• There is an additional charge of €2.00 per slide, payable only at the entrance to the slide.
• Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
• Due to its immense popularity during our opening summer season, long queues of over two hours can be expected during peak times.
• For safety reasons, the slide may need to close in wet or humid conditions, as it can cause people to become stuck or increase the speed to unsafe levels.
• Unfortunately, advance booking for the slide is not possible due to several factors.
  • The number of individuals allowed to slide per hour varies and cannot be precisely determined, and it is significantly lower than the number of visitors who can enjoy the Treetop Walk & Viewing Tower on any given day.
  • Additionally, weather conditions may necessitate the closure of the slide.
• When planning to slide, please remember to collect your mat at the second level of the tower and bring it with you to the top.
• During busy periods, there may be a wait to obtain a mat.
• Consider your preferences and the wait times that may arise due to the slide’s popularity.
• If you decide to partake in the slide, we recommend visiting midweek and arriving early in the day to avoid long queues.
