With its status as Ireland’s largest landowner, Coillte stands in a unique position to offer solutions that aid in the restoration of nature and the enhancement of our life support systems.

Every one of Coillte’s forests undergoes sustainable management practices, rigorously assessed and certified by both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC©) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme (PEFC©). As an integral component of this sustainable forest management approach, 20% of Coillte’s forests are primarily dedicated to safeguarding diverse wildlife and their habitats. Furthermore, in 2019, Coillte introduced a not-for-profit division known as Coillte Nature, dedicated to implementing large-scale initiatives aimed at contributing to the resolution of the biodiversity and climate challenges.

Coillte Nature employs ecological best practices to revitalize, regenerate, and rehabilitate natural environments throughout Ireland, fostering close partnerships with both internal and external collaborators.
